Are a licensed doctor (MD, MBBS, or equivalent)
Have 2+ years of board certification (U.S. doctors only)
What you need to do:
30 hours CME from an approved course (LMWC Certification Training)
20 hours CME from an approved event (like Lifestyle Medicine Summit)
Write a patient case study
Pass the exam (150 multiple-choice questions in 4 hours)
For Non-Physician Health Professionals - DipACLM (ACLM Certified Lifestyle Medicine Professional)
Have a master’s or doctorate in a health-related field (e.g., nursing, dietetics, psychology)
What you need to do:
30 hours of online Lifestyle Medicine education
20 hours of in-person or virtual LM events
Pass the exam (120 multiple-choice questions in 4 hours)
No case study required.
Based on the official guidelines from the American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM) and the American/International Board of Lifestyle Medicine (ABLM/IBLM), the 30 hours of required online CME are valid for 36 months (3 years) before the date you take the certification exam.
This allows you a flexible, multi-year window to complete the educational prerequisites before taking the board certification exam.
